Report on 2008 Exhibition

17th September 2008

The show ran from 2nd – 10th August and was once again held at the Gallery, Dartington College of Arts. As you will see from the photos the work looked superb in the gallery with a great selection of nine of our member’s furniture; from jewellery boxes to sideboards and trays to dining tables.

Members of the public often spoke of how impressed they were with the level of skill on display as well as the high quality of the designs. Makers were present each day to meet visitors and chat about their work and this proved, once again, to be a key feature of the show. Chairs were sat on, drawers opened and surfaces stroked as people discovered the world of bespoke furniture.

A major aim of the exhibition is to spread the word about fine contemporary furniture and the experience would seem to suggest we are getting there, slowly but surely! Commissioning work, to your specific requirements, is a great way to own a unique piece of furniture, and one that will last for generations to come.

Our new sponsors, Bridge Motorcycles of Exeter, displayed two of their fantastic Triumph range and we are delighted to have their support.  These classic British bikes show the best of home grown design and production, as does our work!

We look forward to welcoming you to next year’s exhibition with details next spring on this website.
