Rex Helston

Rex Helston has been making furniture for over 20 years. After studying at Rycotewood College and the London College of Furniture he worked for several years as a cabinet maker in London before moving to Devon in 1992 to run his own business from workshops in the Blackdown Hills. Working exclusively to commission, Rex designs and makes a wide range of domestic and commercial furniture. He uses, wherever possible, native English timbers and farmed woods and his designs combine a practical elegance with the highest standards of craftsmanship. Recently completed projects include the furniture, staircase and kitchen for a restored Alpine chalet  and responsibility for the interior furnishings of the celebrated modernist property "Miramonte" in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey.
